BélO has been hailed as Haiti’s musical ambassador to the world. With his electrified acoustic guitar, he sings ballad and other song forms in French or creole mixing in beats from reggae, soul, Haitian roots and other traditional Haitian sounds. A socially conscious folk singer, active in many humanitarian efforts to rebuild Haiti, BélO interacts with the audience, speaking to them about the content of his songs. BélO’s humanitarian work to rebuild Haiti has been featured on Frontline/PBS.
