Abendmusik was originally a series of concerts given on the Sunday evenings in Advent at the Marienkirche in Lübeck, Germany. Instituted in the 17th century by the then organist, Franz Tunder, and
continued by Dietrich Buxtehude, the concerts of organ, vocal and instrumental music ran until 1810. Our version of Abendmusik will be a very interesting follow-up to our popular 2008 re-creation of an English Evensong service. Really gorgeous music!
