Pioneer Valley Ballet’s popular production of “The Little Mermaid” was the “smash hit” of the 2008 PVB season and Artistic Directors Thomas Vacanti and Maryanne Kodzis plan on amazing audiences again. They will be reviving this classic with even more inventive choreography, stunning special effects, and lush costumes and scenery. Set to Camille Saint Saens’ musical score, don’t miss PVB’s extravagant production based on the fairy tale by the Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul and the love of a human prince.
